It is a good idea to clean all of your windows at least once a year. It is even better to clean them twice a year such as in the Spring and in the Fall. Windows allow us to see outside from the warmth and comfort of our homes. They also allow sunlight to come in to help light and warm our houses in the winter.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Vacuum the inside of each window before cleaning. Put the dusting brush attachment onto your vacuum cleaner and suck cobwebs and dust off of the window sill and from around the frame.
Step2
Use paper towels and window cleaner to wash the inside of the each of the upper floor windows first. This will remove the dirt from inside of the window and make it easier for you to tell if you have gotten the outside clean.
Step3
Clean the outside of the upper floor windows the same way by climbing on a ladder to reach the window panes.
Step4
Purchase an outdoor window cleaner and use it attached to your garden hose to hose down and clean the outside of the upper floor windows if you would prefer not to climb on a ladder. You can also mix your own solution of ammonia and water and fill an empty hose attachment to clean the windows.
Step5
Rent a gasoline or electric power washer, also called a pressure washer, for a weekend. Use the power washer to clean the outside of upper floor windows from the ground.
Step6
Consider hiring a service once or twice a year to wash the outside of your upper floor windows if it is too difficult for you to do it yourself.
