Dry skin feels rough, flaky and itchy. Fine lines and wrinkles may be more visible than they should be. There's a reason you're supposed to moisturize after being out in the sun--because tanning dries your skin out even more. So it makes sense that if you're starting with dry skin, you should use a sunscreen with a built-in moisturizer. Read these tips to determine which product is best for your skin.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Look for a sunscreen that contains some sort of moisturizer. That way as your slathering on the sunscreen, you're also hydrating your skin.
Step2
Read the label and see if there's aloe in the sunscreen. Aloe replenishes moisture in your skin.
Step3
Try Eucerin Extra Protective moisture lotion. It's SPF 30 and contains titanium oxides and microfine zinc. It will soften your skin while protecting it against the UVA rays that age you and the UVB rays that can cause cancer.
Step4
Use Cynthea Spa sunscreen. There's an aloe based one that offers 30 SPF. It moisturizes your skin and contains zinc oxide, titanium dioxide and iron oxides to protect you from the sun. Buy it online (see resources below).
Step5
Go natural. Look for sunscreens that contain one of these essentials oils--chamomile, rosewood, sandalwood, macadamia nut, peach kernel or sweet almond. All treat dry skin.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you see a dermatologist, ask her for recommendations.
  • If your skin becomes irritated from a sunscreen, discontinue use.
