Step 1
Decide what form you need to file. The 990 form is used for tax exempt non profit organizations with more than $10 million in total assets and with 245 employees or more. The 990 EZ form is a short form for small tax exempt organizations that previously were not required to file returns. Use the 990-PF form for private organizations and non-exempt charitable trusts. The size of the organization does not matter if it is private or non-exempt.

Step 2
Visit the IRS website for a list of approved companies who provide E-Filing for tax exempt organizations (see Resources below). Provide all of your information to the E-File company you choose. The E-File company inputs your information into the appropriate forms.

Step 3
Review the forms the company provides to you. These forms look like any other tax forms. Read through them to check for any discrepancies or problems.

Step 4
Approve the forms and instruct the company to E-File your taxes. Once your taxes are filed, the refund is normally deposited directly into your account within 10 business days.
