The prom is the perfect time for a male makeover. 2. Start with the hair. For men, the hairstyle will be the most noticeable and significant part of the makeover. The trick is to find a hair stylist that you can trust. Be open to things like highlights, bleaching and products to make the new hair style effective.

3. Tame and sculpt the facial hair. If you have some wild facial hair growing, get it tamed for the dance. However, don't focus only on what's on your chin. 4. Get a tan. Since you're most likely going to be wearing a tuxedo to the prom, there's not much for you to do in the fashion department. Instead, focus on what shows-your skin. Throw on some sunscreen and head outdoors to catch some rays. If you live under overcast skies, then get yourself to the nearest tanning salon for a few hours on a tanning bed or a full body spray to even out your pre-summer pallor.

5. Get some accessories. Most men cringe at the idea of an accessory but the fact is that a fat silver bracelet or a light gold chain can turn you from boring to bling. Consider engraved cuff links, bracelets or a smooth-looking tie pin to complete your makeover at prom. Just go with your gut and know where to draw the line, no matter what your makeover advisers are urging you to do.
