How to Attend the Angola Prison Rodeo

Louisiana State Penitentiary hosts the wildest show in the south. The Angola Prison Rodeo has been held each year since 1965. It started out as a "fun" event for the prisoners and guards. 1. Buy your tickets well in advance. The rodeo sells out each year, so get your tickets as soon as they go on sale. Watch the Angola Prison Rodeo website for the sale date.

2. Purchase your tickets for $10 each online. There are no refunds or exchanges. Go to the Angola Prison Rodeo website and select the tickets button. Follow the steps to get your tickets. Tickets.com also sells Rodeo tickets.

3. Call [phone], 2607 or 2042 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to order tickets and for more information. Make payment to the Angola Prison Rodeo on your cashier's check or money order. Pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover as well. No personal checks are accepted.

4. Prepare to be searched. You have consented to have your person, property and car searched the minute you drive through the prison gates. Prepare to show your purse, diaper bag and any other bags you may have.

5. Bring only yourself, family, friends, and wallet. No food, drinks, coolers, weapons, ammunition, alcohol and drugs are allowed on prison property. There will be lots of food venders to choose from. Buy barbecue, Mexican, Creole or just a hot dog at the event. Enjoy!
