Instructions

    • 1

Choose a dandruff shampoo that has sulfur as one of the main ingredients. Most dandruff shampoos have sulfur in them. Sulfur helps to remove excess flaking and decrease the severity of future flare-ups caused by yeast.

    • 2

Lather the shampoo on your hair. When you use dandruff shampoo, leave it on your scalp for five minutes after lathering. Now massage your scalp vigorously to loosen any soften dandruff particles.

    • 3

Rinse thoroughly and repeat the lather and massage steps to remove further dandruff. Always scrub your scalp vigorously to remove any loosened dandruff particles. Sulfur is a natural product and will be something easy to find in your dandruff shampoo selections.

    • 4

Shampoo your hair using this method twice a week for the first three weeks. You can go to once a week after that if your symptoms are getting better.

    • 5

Try sulfur-based shampoos before going to prescription remedies. Try a variety of dandruff shampoos that also include conditioning so that your hair will be soft and manageable after you dry it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Adverse reactions to sulfur are rare. Therefore, you should be able to use these at will.

  • Do not use sulfur-based dandruff shampoo if you have colored hair.
