Enrolling into an online school is easy enough. However, actually doing well at an online school is a different story. To become a successful Axia College student, you'll need discipline, focus and the right attitude. Many people have the misconception that online schools are easy and quick. This is not necessarily true. Getting an online degree will take roughly the same level of time and commitment as a traditional school.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Enroll into the Right Degree Program

Step1
Request information online via any University of Phoenix banner ad. Axia College is considered the junior college to the University of Phoenix. The full name of Axia is Axia College of University of Phoenix. You will receive a call within the hour in most cases. You can be proactive and call them at (800) 545-6042. Follow the prompts to speak to an enrollment counselor.
Step2
Ask all the right questions before agreeing to fill out the application. Make sure they offer the degree for which you're looking. You don't want to waste your time on credits that won't transfer to a four-year university. Be sure that you completely understand what you're signing up for with this application. It can be a costly mistake if you decide to drop classes mid-way through a block.
Step3
Enroll into the degree program of your choice. This process will be expedited by an enrollment counselor. Throughout this process, take notes on any scholarly advice the enrollment counselor or the academic counselor will give you.

Succeed in Class

Step1
Print your syllabus and save all instructor contact information. Save any assignments, as well. If it looks important or looks like it could help you, save it. Make sure you're familiar with the "Tutorials and Guides" section on your student website. These links will be quite helpful in your success at Axia College.
Step2
Go to class. This sounds odd, but the best way to be successful at Axia College is to merely to go to class at least four days a week. By going to class and participating in the various discussion threads, you will be doing yourself a huge favor. Since the majority of the information shared in class is distributed through discussion threads, you will be at an advantage over your classmates whom may not go to class as often. So get online and post often.
Step3
Have the discipline and focus to do your homework and turn it in on time. Many people get easily distracted by the plethora of things on their computer: music, movies, games, MySpace and eBay, just to name a few. You need the ability to focus on your studies, as you'll have 10 times the distractions at home than you'd have at an actual campus.
Step4
Ask for help if you need it. If you're having trouble reading the syllabus or understanding homework, call your enrollment counselor or your academic counselor. It is their job to help you succeed. If you need help understanding an assignment, contact your teacher. Once again, it is their job to teach you; but they can't help you if you don't ask questions.
Step5
Don't wait until the last minute to turn in homework or post in class. It is hard to detect when and if you'll have Internet connectivity issues, a power failure, a computer/hard drive crash, an illness or any number of personal or family emergencies. So post early and post often, preferably in the beginning of your school week.
