Stability balls are pieces of workout equipment that can enhance your overall exercise routine. When you start a stability ball workout program, you are going to strengthen core muscles while also adding a little fun to your daily exercise routine.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a stability ball. Before you do a stability ball workout, you are going to need access to this piece of exercise equipment. If you do not already own one, head over to a sports and fitness equipment retailer.

  2. Step 2

Get a workout video that focuses on exercising with the stability ball. A workout video, such as the "Quick Fix Stability Ball Workout", can walk you through the moves that you can use with the stability ball.

  3. Step 3

Sign up for a stability ball training class at the gym. These classes are likely to focus on the strengthening of your core muscles. You can expect to perform push-ups on the ball, leg lifts with the ball balanced between your legs, and arm raises.

  4. Step 4

Perform Pilates moves with the stability workout. Many Pilates positions can be performed while holding or lifting the stability ball.

  5. Step 5

Practice and perfect your body's balance. For balance training, sit or squat upon the stability ball. The longer that you can hold the pose, the better it is for your balance.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't be surprised if you fall a few times when you first start using a stability ball. It takes time to perfect the balance needed for the workout.
  • You should perform all stability workout moves on a soft mat to prevent serious injury from occurring.
