Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photos
  • Computer
  • Internet
  1. Step 1

Get all of your mom's favorite photos together. Make sure you find photos of mom doing her favorite things like gardening, reading, cooking or anything else she loves. Find some candid shots of mom during all those special occasions.

  2. Step 2

Scan the photos or download them onto your computer. Set up account at Shutterfly by using your email address and setting a password for your account. It's that easy to get started.

  3. Step 3

Download all the photos you want to use in your Mother's Day photo book to the Shutterfly website. Select the "Add Pictures" tab, and create a new photo album. Name your album by either selecting the date or typing in your own name. After clicking on "Next," click on the "Add Pictures" button.

  4. Step 4

Find the files on your computer, select them for downloading and click "Download." After adding all the photos, select "View Photos" to make sure they are all in your album.

  5. Step 5

Select the "Shutterfly Store" tab, and choose photo books to start making your Mother's Day album. You'll have several choices of albums including the classic photo book, a Mother's Day memory book or a smaller 5x7 casual photo book.

  6. Step 6

Choose the book you want to make, and follow the step-by-step instructions to drag photos from your album to the pages. Choose from many styles, colors and fonts to include in your photo book.

  7. Step 7

On the last page, write a tribute or letter to your mom. You can make the page all text and include a photo to go with the words. Each book can be a minimum of 20 pages and a maximum of 80 pages depending on how many photos and captions you want to use, and how much you want to spend.

  8. Step 8

Vary the layouts of each photo book page. One page could be just one large page-size photo, and the next page could be a collage of several photos with descriptions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Include photos from just one year, or make it a memory book of photos from throughout your mom's life. Even find photos of mom when she wasn't a mom. Ask her old friends or relatives for help.
  • Be sure to include captions with all the photos so anyone who looks at it will know who the people are and what occasion each photo was taken.
  • Make special sections in the book. A few pages of mom with each child, or break the pages into activities, special occasions or seasons.
  • Check and double-check all captions for spelling and accuracy. You're the only one who will be proofreading the book before it is printed.
