Keeping current with fashion and beauty trends is expensive. Everyone likes to look their best, but not everyone has the funds to keep up with the latest looks. Not to worry. There are a few steps you can take to help you buy beauty products on a budget.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Shop in the cosmetic section of discount stores. This is a great way to find beauty products for anyone on a budget. The selection of products may not always be consistent, but you can find some great deals.
Step2
Remove makeup or soften rough hands and feet with petroleum jelly. This is an inexpensive item that can be used for numerous beauty applications.
Step3
Add vinegar to your list of beauty products for a small budget. Mix equal parts warm water and vinegar for help with dry scalp and dandruff and rinse your hair with equal parts vinegar and cold water to add shine to your hair. Vinegar can also be used as a skin toner. Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to 8 ounces of water.
Step4
Buy some sugar and a spray bottle to make your own hairspray. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar to 12 ounces of water in a spray bottle. If you like your hairspray with more staying power add another tablespoon of sugar.
Step5
Scour sale flyers and clip coupons to buy beauty products when they're featured at local stores to help you stick to your budget. Drugstores often run sales on beauty products, and many times the sales will coincide with a coupon that you can get from your Sunday paper.

Tips & Warnings

  • Go to beauty or barber schools for haircuts. You can get hair services for little to no money. The students at these schools are supervised by licensed professionals to provide assistance if needed.
  • Use your conditioner less often to save a little money and stick to your budget. Try every other day; if you have shorter hair, only a few times a week is necessary.
