How to Make a Michelada

When you loosely translate the term "michelada" in Spanish, you get the phrase "my cold beer." Beer is highly popular in the United States and imported beers are readily available in liquor stores across the country. But right now, you'll only find a michelada in states that share a border with Mexico. That is, unless you make this cocktail yourself.

Things You’ll Need:

• 1/2 lime
• Coarse salt
• Worcestershire sauce
• Soy sauce
• Tabasco sauce
• Black pepper
• Maggi seasoning, optional
• Beer

1. Squeeze the juice from half of a lime. You'll get the best flavor with a key lime. After you've squeezed the juice, use the rest of the lime to salt the rim of a glass. Rub the lime around the edge, and then dip the moist edge in coarse salt.
2. Combine all ingredients except for the beer. Measurements are negotiable, so feel free to use more or less depending on your preference. Mix 2 splashes of Worcestershire sauce, 1 splash of soy sauce, 1 splash of Tabasco sauce, 1 pinch of black pepper and 1 splash of Maggi together in a bowl. Stir everything together to ensure everything is mixed thoroughly.
3. Add beer to your mix. The best beer for this drink is a dark Mexican beer.
4. Pour your michelada into your salted glass. Continually add more beer to your glass as you drink.
5. Create drinks for multiple people by doubling or tripling this recipe. You can also pass the recipe around to all your friends, and maybe they'll make you a michelada next time you're over.
