1
Thread the tapestry needle with your choice of color of embroidery floss, and tie a small knot at the bottom of your working thread. This will ensure the first stitch will be secured from the back of the Aida fabric.
-
2
Come up with the threaded needle in the top right corner of the square where you would like to start adding your Algerian eye cross stitches.
-
-
3
Insert the needle into the center of the same Aida square to form your first straight stitch.
-
4
Bring the threaded needle up through the center of the right side of the square and back down into the very center of the square to form a second straight stitch.
-
5
Push the threaded needle up through the bottom right corner of the square and insert it back into the center of the square, once again.
-
6
Continue working around the square, making straight stitches that go from the corners and side centers of the square until you have created a total of eight straight stitches that all meet in the very center of the square.
-
7
Complete more Algerian eye cross stitches in a row or simply let the stitch stand alone, securing the floss with a knot at the back of the Aida fabric and cutting the floss from the needle.
