How to Make an Easter Bunny Basket

Your child will shout for joy when she sees this beautiful hand crafted basket. It is worth the time and effort to put it together when you see the look on your child's face on Easter morning. Have some patience, go to the craft store, get your supplies and have fun.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Oval shape container, such as an ice cream carton or coffee can
  • Faux fur or soft felt
  • Cardboard
  • 2 Large googly eyes
  • 3 Large pom-poms
  • 1 Small pom-pom
  • Thin string
  • Glue
  • Rubber bands
  • Hole punch
  • 2 Brass paper fasteners
  1. Step 1

    Go to your local craft store and purchase a rabbit basket stencil, or go online and download the template.

  2. Step 2

    Adhere a some faux fur or soft felt all over the outside of a oval ice cream container or coffee can. Be sure that the container is empty and clean before using it.

  3. Step 3

    Put some extra fur or felt on the upper and lower portions of the container. Adhere the excess to the inside of the container.

  4. Step 4

    Create the rabbit's head using the cardboard that you have procured for this project. Adhere it to two similar fur head shapes with the soft sides facing outward. Cut out two rose-colored, lengthy oblong shapes for the ears. Attach them into place on the head. Adhere the head to the container. Take the rubber bands and put them around the head to keep it in place until it is set.

  5. Step 5

    Cut out two rabbit's feet using the cardboard that you have chosen. Adhere it the middle of two similar pieces of fur. The fur should cover the cardboard completely. Take two rose-colored cut out ovals and adhere them to the underside of each foot. Adhere the feet to the underside of the container. Create a ring of fur and adhere it to the underside of the container.

  6. Step 6

    Create a way to carry the basket by cutting a strip of cardboard and putting it in the middle of two similarly shaped pieces of fur. Take a hole puncher and create a hole along the border of the handle. There should be one hole in each end. Punch a hole on both sides of the container to fasten the handle to. Adhere the carrier with the brass paper fasteners.

  7. Step 7

    Attach eyes, pink pom-poms for cheeks and a tiny pom-pom for the nose. Use string for the whiskers. Adhere a pom-pom for a tail.
