Lego building sets have come along way since their inception. Lego building blocks can now be turned into houses, cars and trucks and even entire cities. Lego has an entire line of products devoted to the Lego enthusiast. There are many truck building options all with authentic, working parts for hours of building fun.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a Lego building set online or from your local toy store. The highly detailed trucks come from their Technic line and are very challenging. Choose from construction vehicles, trucks, farming equipment or vehicles designed for speed.

  2. Step 2

Choose a well lighted area with a large workspace. For these types of building projects, the dining room table probably isn't the best idea. A child or adult will want to work on this over time, so the area needs to be something that can be left as is between building sessions.

  3. Step 3

Read the directions carefully and completely before removing any parts from the box. Lego sets are very detailed, so you need to understand what you're doing so things don't get lost.

  4. Step 4

Sort all your pieces into plastic containers with lids. This will allow for easy identification and a way to keep things together between work times.

  5. Step 5

Understand the unit of measure and distance in Technic products. Technic building sets use the module as their unit of measure. A module is the distance from the center of one hole on a beam to the center of the next hole.

  6. Step 6

Don't skip steps. Lego building sets are designed to go together in a certain way in order to ensure all parts are used in the proper place. This is especially important if your vehicle has moving parts or is automated in any way.

  7. Step 7

Visit the Lego website and click on the "Technic" button to see all the different car and truck model kits as well as get information and building instructions for these products.
