Indoor soccer clubs and leagues are a popular form of exercise and offer team sport experience. Indoor soccer, while the same style game as the outdoor variety, requires special equipment for optimum play. Learning how to buy indoor soccer equipment that fits your budget is reasonably simple.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand the differences between indoor soccer and outdoor soccer. Indoor soccer fields are smaller which require fewer players on the field and which makes for a faster paced game. The field is artificial and is surrounded by walls.

  2. Step 2

Know that the basic equipment necessary for indoor soccer includes team uniforms, special shoes, shin guards and a regulation soccer ball.

  3. Step 3

Talk with your coach or the organizer of the league to find out any regulations on soccer equipment before you make a purchase.

  4. Step 4

Find your local sports store and look for indoor soccer shoes. Choose shoes based upon how often you play and how serious you are about the sport. Higher quality shoes that are more expensive last longer.

  5. Step 5

Purchase shin guards. Shin guards are a must if you want to avoid bruises from being kicked by another player or to deflect a hard kicked ball. Shin guards come in adult and youth sizes and should have a stirrup to keep them positioned correctly and a padded ankle for comfort.

  6. Step 6

Find a soccer ball that is a size 5. Soccer balls range in size from 3 to 5. Size 5 is the standard size used by adults in all soccer events. Soccer balls vary in durability and quality based on the materials they are made of; higher quality balls are leather.

Tips & Warnings
