All types of athletes use a rosin bag to get a better grip on things, from baseball players to bowlers. Making your own grip rosin bag means you'll be able to custom make the size and shape to suit your specific needs. Here are the easy steps to make your own rosin bag so you can keep a good grip on the ball.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 yard of cotton muslin fabric
  • Scissors
  • Serger
  • Funnels
  • Needle and thread
  • Rock rosin
  1. Step 1

Cut the cotton muslin in two thicknesses into the size and shape that you would like to make your rosin bag. Be sure to leave a 3/4-inch seam allowance around the outside when you make it.

  2. Step 2

Serge both thicknesses around the outside, leaving a 1-inch opening to put your rosin powder in. Leaving this gap ensures you will have enough space to get the rosin in.

  3. Step 3

Turn your rosin bag inside out. This will put the serged edges inside the bag.

  4. Step 4

Put the end of a funnel into the rosin bag opening. Try to ensure the funnel fits snugly in the opening so the rosin powder doesn't escape through the sides. Surge a little further if it is too loose, or use a slightly bigger funnel end.

  5. Step 5

Pour the rosin powder into the funnel and gently tap the bag so the rosin bag is filled. This might get messy, so you may want to do this step outside.

  6. Step 6

Fold the seam allowance in and hand stitch the rosin bag closed. Be sure to go over your serged stitches so your stitching doesn't unravel when you use the rosin bag.
