How to Puree Vegetables

Pureeing vegetables is a cost effective way to feed your baby. It also gives you control over what you are putting in their stomachs. Baby foods often contain preservatives that are not as healthy as we would want to give to our children. So take some time and treat your child to yummy pureed vegetables.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vegetables
  • Food processor or blender
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Water
  1. Step 1

    Prepare the vegetables by cleaning them and peeling them if need be.

  2. Step 2

    Chop the vegetables into fine pieces. Make them as fine as you possibly can.

  3. Step 3

    Place the prepared and chopped vegetables into a vegetable steamer and cover them with water. Be sure that they are completely covered with the water. Add approximately 1/2 cup of water for every 2 cups of vegetables.

  4. Step 4

    Steam the vegetables.

  5. Step 5

    Put the steamed vegetables and about 1/3 of the water from the pot into a food processor or blender.

  6. Step 6

    Hit puree or blend until they are soft and there are no chunks left in the mixture.

  7. Step 7

    Transfer the mixture to a bowl and feed to your child when cooled.

  • Always use a clean working space.
