Instructions

  1. Making Prayer Beads

    • 1

Make a knot in one end of your pipe cleaner or thread. This is the base for adding beads. All beads should be pushed towards this end.

    • 2

Begin by selecting a large bead that will be considered the main bead on the prayer beads. This will be the first bead that you pray on.

    • 3

Take your string and thread it through the main bead.

    • 4

Add the remaining beads in the order of how you will pray. The amount of beads really does vary based on how you want to pray and what you believe in. You can change the colors to tell you which prayer you are praying.

    • 5

Tie a knot at the opposite end. If you want to make it a bracelet tie the ends together other wise feel free to leave it as just a straight strand of beads that you can hold in your hand.

    Praying on Prayer Beads

    • 6

Hold the Cross at the end of the Rosary Beads and pray the "Apostles Creed."

    • 7

Pray "Our Father" on the first bead after the Cross.

    • 8

Recite the prayer "Hail Mary" for the next 3 beads in the line.

    • 9

Reflect on the first mystery and Christ's life on the very next bead and then pray "Our Father".

    • 10

Pray the "Hail Mary" prayer for the next 10 beads.

    • 11

Recite "Glory Be" on the following bead.

    • 12

Reflect on the second mystery and again on Jesus Christ's life and then pray "Our Father".

    • 13

Continue this pattern until you reach the bead that connects all the other beads together.
