Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to the Brainbench.com and select "Register/Logon" on the top of the page. Enter your information, choose a password and decide whether to receive the monthly newsletter. Enter information about yourself on the next screen and then click the "Submit" button.

  2. Step 2

Decide whether you want to subscribe to Brainbench. Subscriptions allow you to take unlimited tests.

  3. Step 3

Click on "Job Role Center" in the navigation menu to choose a job role that you're interested in pursuing. You'll see a listing of core skills that are required for the job role. Click "Test" to take individual tests from this screen, or click "Learn" to find out about training. The training center lists books and training centers. Click "Plan" to move all the requirements to your planning page.

  4. Step 4

Navigate to the Test Center. Choose the option to view all tests, view all free tests or view tests by category. Request a test. Write down the assigned personal identification number.

  5. Step 5

Prepare for the test. Read the description of the test to find out what the topic areas are. Review the test outlines; all questions on the test come from the categories on the outline. Review the learning to links on Brainbench to find books and online courses.

  6. Step 6

Take the test. Review your results. The system will identify your weaknesses and offers links to suggested reading and online courses from its third party partners.

  7. Step 7

View the "My Transcript" section. View your completed certifications, email your public transcript and add information about third party certifications.
