Instructions

    • 1

Attach all necessary labels to the book's dust jacket.

    • 2

Remove the dust jacket from the book.

    • 3

Power on a laminating machine. Find the setting that controls the laminating speed. Set the laminating speed to the highest possible speed.

    • 4

Make sure the laminating machine indicates that it is ready to laminate. Usually, a light will indicate when the machine is hot enough to successfully laminate. If you find that the machine is not ready to laminate after a few minutes, turn the machine off and on again.

    • 5

Adjust the book's dust jacket so that it is in the middle of the laminating plastic on the machine. This will ensure that each side of the dust jacket will be laminated with equal coverage.

    • 6

Straighten the book's dust jacket so that it will not crimp, crumple or fold while laminating. Hold up the end of the dust jacket if there is not enough space for it to lie on the laminating machine.

    • 7

Click the "Run" button or its equivalent.

    • 8

Let the machine take the cover from your hand as it laminates. However, gently pull the cover straight while the machine is laminating so that the back flaps will not fold.

    • 9

Wait until the dust jacket is completely laminated. The jacket should exit the back of the machine when the machine has finished.

    • 10

Cut the excess plastic from the laminated dust jacket.
