Mix 1 tbsp. honey and 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar into a glass of cold water, and drink it before you go to bed. This eases nausea in the morning.

Eat some dry crackers in bed about half an hour before you get up. Have them plain, without anything to drink.

      • 3

Get out of bed slowly, both in the morning and after a nap. Rising too quickly can worsen or induce the feelings of morning sickness.

      • 4

Use fresh ginger to battle morning sickness. Several studies have shown that ginger root is highly effective in treating and preventing symptoms of morning sickness. So make a tea by adding to boiling water a 2-inch piece of ginger root, peeled and sliced. Allow the brew to steep for 15 to 20 minutes, then strain and enjoy.

Avoid smells that make you feel sick. Put some lavender and peppermint oils on a handkerchief and carry it with you in a plastic bag. When you smell something that turns your stomach, take a whiff of your scented hanky.

    • Instead of ginger tea, you can sprinkle freshly grated ginger onto your cereal to ease morning sickness. Alternatively, you can take a ginger capsule. Consult your doctor about proper dosages.

    • Pomegranate juice, carbonated beverages and peppermint tea are all effective in soothing an upset stomach.
