Step 1
Put the foot on the line that is on the same side as your throwing hand.
-
Step 2
Spread your feet apart so that your weight is evenly distributed. You do not want to be wobbling when you throw the dart.
-
Step 3
Put your shoulders back, bend your knees slightly, keep your back straight. Be comfortable and create a slight lean of your body.
-
Step 4
Hold the dart as gently as you can without dropping it. Try to keep few fingers on the dart.
-
Step 5
Move only the arm that is releasing the dart when you begin to release it.
-
Step 6
Use an effortless, flowing movement when releasing the dart. Try not to chuck the dart when releasing. It should be a gliding movement and that means a nice, easy, gentle touch.
-
Step 7
Apply each of the steps above and try to release the dart the same way whenever you release it.
-
Step 8
Aim for the bull's eye. This will take practice and precision but if you keep at it, it will come.
-
Step 9
Practice, practice, practice.
