Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • PowerPoint 2007 Presentation software

Step1
Click on the PowerPoint software icon on the computer to bring up the Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation software.
Step2
Select a template from the Microsoft PowerPoint template list. By default, Microsoft PowerPoint loads a blank presentation template. Create a custom background and apply it to all slides to create a custom template.
Step3
Create a title page on the first slide. Determine the font and color to be used. Add pictures, graphics or music if desired.
Step4
Determine how each slide will transition to the next slide. Select "Custom Animation" to add special effects and timing between slides.
Step5
Customize each slide with content and points to be given during the presentation. Use bullets to organize information. Charts, diagrams, SmartArt, graphics and pictures add visual interest.
Step6
Use the "Slide" panel on the left side to rearrange the order of the slides by dragging the slides up or down, delete or add slides to the panel or copy slides.
Step7
Practice the presentation by starting the slides from the beginning and timing the presentation. Share the presentation with a colleague, friend or other person to determine if it is visually interesting and correctly arranged.

Tips & Warnings

  • Name and save the presentation immediately after starting a new presentation project. Continue to save data every few minutes.
  • The average amount of time per slide is from two to five minutes.
  • Use the "notes" section to add information or reminders to use during the spoken part of the presentation. The audience will not see the notes on the actual presentation.
  • Back up the presentation to a CD or external device in case the original presentation becomes corrupted.
