How to Edit Text in PowerPoint 2007

PowerPoint is a Microsoft application which allows you to create presentations in a slideshow format. PowerPoint 2007 has a new feature called the Microsoft Office Fluent interface which is designed to be more intuitive. The most obvious change is the ribbon and Microsoft Office button. The following steps will show how to edit text in PowerPoint 2007.

Instructions

1. Open a PowerPoint file. You may open the file directly by double-clicking it or you can start PowerPoint and click on the "Microsoft Office" button. From there you would click the "Open" icon, browse through your system for the desired file and open it.

2. Look for the "View" toolbar on the bottom right side of the PowerPoint window. There are three view buttons on the left side of the toolbar. Press the left-most button, which is "Normal View" to edit text.

3. Study the "Normal View" window in PowerPoint 2007. There are 4 work areas: the "Outline" and "Slide" tabs on the left side and the "Notes" and "Slide" panes on the right side.

4. Select the "Outline" tab or the "Slide" pane to edit text. The "Outline" tab shows the text and titles of each slide and the "Slide" pane shows the current slide.

5. Position the cursor on the text and change it, just as you would in Word. You can select the text and cut, copy or paste it using one of the following methods: right click the text to bring up the context menu and select the desired editing command, select the desired editing command from the toolbar or use the appropriate keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+X to cut, Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste).
