Everyone knows that a dog can be a perfect way to start up a conversation and make a connection to another person. However, if you're serious about finding a dog-friendly guy to share some time with, you need more of a strategy than just walking your dog. Dog parks present the perfect opportunity to implement a strategy and meet men. Read on to learn more.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Train your dog to do something endearing in response to an inconspicuous command. It's easier to meet someone when you have a dog, but think of how much easier it can be if your dog completely charms him first. Read a dog training book like "The Only Dog Tricks Book You'll Ever Need" by Gerilyn and Paul Bielakiewicz for ideas on the trick to best convey both your personality and your dog's to a potential mate.

  2. Step 2

Determine your criteria before you begin trying to meet men at dog parks. Think about whether you're more interested in someone with a certain look, a certain type of dog or a certain type of personality. Also consider age as you establish your criteria so you have a strong sense of which men you really want to meet.

  3. Step 3

Frequent a number of dog parks to see which has the highest number of men who meet your criteria. Visit one or two different parks each day with your dog. She'll have a great time exploring new territory as you scope out the available men.

  4. Step 4

Choose your outfit carefully so it reveals the real you. A visit to the dog park isn't an occasion you should dress up for, but if you want to meet men, your clothes should reveal who you are-whether you're at the dog park or at a club. However, focus on your personality rather than trying to look sexy at the dog park.

  5. Step 5

Encourage your dog to play with the dogs of men who meet your criteria. If your dog is playing with his, you have a natural opening to a conversation.

  6. Step 6

Prompt your dog to show off her endearing trick for the man-but don't let him know that it's actually one of her tricks. Her trick should elicit a positive reaction from him. If it doesn't, he's probably not someone you're really going to be all that interested in.

  7. Step 7

Ask men you're interested in when they usually come to the dog park. Suggest that you meet there. Because this isn't a date, it won't be intimidating to a man you just met. Exchange phone numbers so you can better coordinate your visit to the dog park.

  8. Step 8

Invite him on a date, sans dogs, once you know he's interested in you (or accept his date if he makes the first move). If the date doesn't lead to anything, return to the dog park to find another eligible man.
