Photoshop is a photo editing and publishing software that allows its users to create personalized items. Photoshop Elements is a more expansive version of the original that allows for more pixels. This gives the graphics and photos better quality. Creating CD case jackets with this system only takes a few minutes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Open Photoshop Elements from your Desktop or Start Menu. Go to the "File" tab. Click "New" in the drop-down menu and then click the "Blank File" option.
Step2
Enter the width at 9.5 inches and the height at 4.75 inches in the box that pops up on the screen. Leave the rest of the settings at the default settings for the CD jacket.
Step3
Select "Rulers" from the "View" tab at the top of the screen.
Step4
Cut the page into four equal sections using the pencil tool. Use the rulers as a guide.
Step5
Save the file before continuing so you do not lose any of your progress. This also allows you to have a template saved for other CD case jackets.
Step6
Insert text, pictures and graphics to your CD case jacket. Each square of the template you created in Step 4 is one side of the CD jacket. For example, one template makes the front and back for 2 CDs. At this point, save your progress again.
Step7
Print your CD case jacket. Cut the jacket out of the paper after printing. Follow the template's lines to be the most accurate. Place it in the CD case.

Tips & Warnings

  • Another option with this CD jacket is to fold along the middle line and staple or glue along two of the other edges, making a pouch, so the CD slides into it.
