Refrain from using regular soaps, as they may contain allergens that are highly irritable to the skin.

Choose an oatmeal based cleanser to wash the body. Oatmeal contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help relieve itchy skin conditions and moisturize dry skin at the same time.

Apply moisturizers to the skin daily, preferably right after a bath and at least twice a day. The more the skin stays moisturized, the less itchy breakouts will occur.

Monitor the types of foods consumed which may potentially triggers a bad eczema episode. Avoid those foods. Some foods that can easily trigger a bad eczema condition include shellfish, such as crabs, shrimp, and clams and wheat, peanuts or highly processed food. Seek the help of an allergist to test out the triggers and avoid them altogether.

Limit sugar intake, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, exercise regularly and drink plenty of water to hydrate the body.

Take short baths rather than long ones. Soaking in a bath for a long period can easily dry out the skin.

Visit the doctor or a dermatologist for a prescriptive steroid cream if the eczema condition does not improve or if itching becomes unbearable.
