How to Maintain Ballgame Date Etiquette

Being asked on a date to a ballgame requires a particular date etiquette. Good conversation should be replaced with game talk, sexy clothes should be replaced with comfortable ones and yelling and jumping become appropriate, in moderation. Using common sense about a ballgame date is the best way to maintain date etiquette.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wear appropriate ballgame clothing. You may want to impress your date with your most flattering outfit, but if it's cold outside, dress warmly. You won't look good if you're shivering uncontrollably.

  2. Step 2

Be ready when it's time to go. Being fashionably late may work for a night out on the town, but when you are attending a ballgame, fashionably late may mean missing an important part of the game.

  3. Step 3

Keep small talk to a minimum. Talk on the way there, during breaks and on the way home. Don't ask about personal feelings or where a relationship is going during game time.

  4. Step 4

Get food and drinks before the game or during intermissions. If you want to make a good impression, don't ask your date to go and get you a snack during game time.

  5. Step 5

Pay attention to the game. Even if you are not a huge fan of the game, your date probably is. At the very least, it will give you something to talk about on the way home or on your next date.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you find yourself on a date with a fan of the opposite team, you have definitely put yourself in a sticky situation. This difference can make the date even more fun if you root playfully for your team. However, if you are a die hard fan, you may want to consider re-scheduling your date.
