Eco-friendly walls are good for the environment, your health and your bank account. Walls that consider environmental and ecological factors insulate better and use less costly and damaging materials in their construction.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Get eco-friendly exteriors. The exterior of building walls are the first defense against energy waste. Aluminum sidings, special heat and sun reflective coatings and other energy conscious exteriors can lower inside temperatures during warm periods or raise those temperatures during the cold, without you ever touching the thermostat. Use exteriors to manage heat in the building for an eco-friendly solution.
Step2
Use natural interiors. Naturally based wall interiors are as good for your health as they are for the environment. Check out clay and other nature-based building materials for wall interiors. American Clay is one good wall product that uses pure clays colored by non-toxic oxides. Smart walls like these will keep your home and the soil free from harmful chemicals.
Step3
Grow green walls. Instead of using harsh building materials and metals to ground perimeter walls, think about growing thick, thorny hedges to serve as perimeter walls. By opting for green instead of gray you'll be contributing to both the local and global environment in an eco-friendly way.
Step4
Choose eco-friendly decor. A wall is not complete without something to put on it. Since you're going to use something to brighten those walls choose eco-friendly paints and even pictures. Companies like Use UK make 100 percent eco-friendly wall art, made of recycled and fully biodegradable material. Similarly, eco-friendly paints go a long way in preserving the environment.
