Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Select a bathtub liner from a do-it-yourself store such as Home Depot. There are several styles available to fit different bathtub brands. Choose a bathtub liner that has been formed over an actual bathtub and not just an impression for it to fit properly.
Step2
Arrange for a bathtub liner to be custom made to fit your bathtub if you want an exact fit. It will come in two or three pieces that allows for expansion during the various weather conditions year round.
Step3
Use a lime scale remover to thoroughly clean your bathtub before you install the new liner. Make sure you have proper ventilation because it's a toxic cleaner.
Step4
Remove any damaged tiles or drywall that may have succumbed to rot. If you install the liner over the rot you will have to do a complete overhaul of your bathtub in a short period, as the rot will spread throughout the wall.
Step5
Install the bathtub liner according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure to follow the instructions exactly to ensure a proper fit of your bathtub liner.
