How to Use the AVG Rescue CD

Viruses can completely destroy your computer, and you can lose valuable information, photographs and documents. With the use of the AVG Rescue CD you can prevent this with virus detection and spyware programs.

Instructions

1. Install the AVG Rescue CD on your computer. The anti-virus software will be installed on your computer. It automatically detects and removes viruses from your computer.

2. Scan your email for viruses before it is opened. This is done automatically by the email scanner. If viruses are detected they are removed and placed in the virus vault where they're quarantined.

3. Use the AVG Rescue CD to recover your Windows XP and Server 2003 operating systems. Place the CD in the drive then restart your computer. Follow the prompts.

4. Reboot your computer completely if it has a virus. Place the CD in the drive and follow the prompts for a clean boot.

5. View the event history log for information on updates that have been performed on your computer. You can also see information on viruses that may have been detected on your computer and where they came from.

6. Detect spyware on your computer using the AVG Rescue CD. When it is installed on your computer it automatically detects and removes spyware.

7. Pay for your license every year. If the license isn't paid for annually the software program will expire, placing your computer at risk for viruses and spyware.
