Beanbag chairs can be durable and extremely comfortable and can bring a leisurely feel to room or workspace. If these chairs do break down, you can often fix them without the help of a professional.

From Quick Guide: Bean Bag Basics
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use a vinyl repair kit to repair any tears or holes in the outer layer of the beanbag chair. Find a color that closely matches the color of your chair. Follow the directions on the vinyl repair kit to seal the hole shut.

  2. Step 2

Thread a needle with heavy-duty thread. Use a whipstitch to sew any holes in the inner liner of the beanbag chair.

  3. Step 3

Open the zipper of the beanbag chair if it has one. Make sure the styrofoam pellets aren't escaping through the zipper opening. If the zipper needs repair, remove the zipper and sew a new one in its place. Make sure to get the same size zipper as the original. You can easily sew the zipper in place by hand.

  4. Step 4

Refill the "beans" in the beanbag chair. Since the styrofoam pellets tend to float, transfer them to the beanbag chair outside on a windless day. Seal the mouth of the refill bead bag and the opening in the chair so that none of the styrofoam escapes as you make the transfer.
