If you have pieces of jewelry that you've stopped wearing or are in disrepair, you don't have to dispose of them. A makeover can give you a whole new look without costing you much.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Turn an old bracelet into a stunning waist-defining belt. Take the bracelet to the fabric store so that you can choose the right thickness and gauge. Select a piece of ribbon that complements the bracelet's color and pattern, and loop the ends through the openings at each end of the bracelet. Double the ribbon through the bracelet and tie it around the back for a quick jewelry makeover.
Step2
Make over a strapless top or spaghetti strap with an old necklace. Use French safety pins, which do not have coils on the bottom, to connect a choker necklace to the material at the front and back of the top. Select a necklace with an even width that will cover the strap completely. This elegant look works great over just one shoulder.
Step3
Use an old brooch to make a stunning bracelet. With a beautiful piece of ribbon, you can make over an attractive brooch. Simply pin the brooch to the center of a heavy piece of matching ribbon, tie and go.
Step4
Transform earrings into necklaces. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to loop the studded end of your earrings and place it on a chain or thin ribbon. You now have a beautiful new necklace.
Step5
Keep your old jewelry. Jewelry makeovers do not necessarily mean a transformation into new jewelry. Save your beads, chains and gems for a variety of decorating ideas and craft projects around your house. You never know when an old clasp, ring or pair of earrings will make the perfect adornment for your next project.
