How to Make a Cinco de Mayo Tablescape

• Mexican blankets
• White pillar candles
• Terracotta plant pots
• Yellow charger plates
• Turquoise dinner plates
• Red soup bowls
• Linen napkins
• Mexican knickknacks
• Miniature cacti
• Miniature terracotta plant pots
• Paint markers

1. Cover the table with 2 or 3 colorful Mexican blankets rather than a traditional tablecloth.

2. Make a simple centerpiece by grouping white pillar candles of varying heights in the center of the table. Place the candles in plain terracotta pots for a southwest feel.

3. Set each place with a yellow charger plate, turquoise dinner plate and red soup bowl. Fiestaware has several colors that are ideal for a Cinco de Mayo tablescape.

4. Place large margarita glasses at each place setting.

5. Fold a colorful linen napkin into a flower and place inside the soup bowl. Select a color from the Mexican blankets tablecloth.

6. Search discount stores and thrift shops for Mexican themed figurines, such as Chihuahuas, cacti, chili peppers and sombreros.

7. Purchase mini cacti in terracotta pots. Write each guests name on the pot, using colorful paint markers.
