Step 1
Change your habits. The parent is in charge of the kid. The parent is therefore responsible for the child's early tooth loss. Change your habits as the parent. Help the child brush her teeth each morning and night. Increase the amount of apples the child eats. Apples work wonders on cleaning teeth when a toothbrush is harder to use. Add fluoride to your child's diet.
-
Step 2
Forgive yourself and move on. The teeth are out and gone. Those baby teeth aren't coming back, so look forward to the adult teeth coming in. You may have done something wrong like given the child a bottle too long or fed your child too much sweets. It is now too late for the teeth that are gone. Forgive yourself and look to the future.
-
Step 3
Explain the situation to the child. Whether the teeth were lost because of an accident or bad hygiene, let the child know. Explain the early tooth loss in simple to understand words.
-
Step 4
Reassure the child that they do get a second chance with teeth. Let your child know that the adult teeth will show up around 6 or 7 years of age. Tell the child that all of her teeth will fall out eventually, but this one was a little early.
-
Step 5
Build the child's self image. Let the child know they are special. Praise the child for the new and improved hygiene. Praise the child for other beautiful features and talents. Praise your kids and make them secure with who they are and not how many teeth they have.
