A portable DVD player is great to have when you're on the go, whether you are traveling by airplane, train or car. You can plug it in if you have access to outlet power, or use batteries. Not only can you watch your favorite action or comedy flick, you can also watch home movies of your family vacation.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Record your family vacation or other moments onto a blank DVD using a digital camera or camcorder. Press open the portable DVD player LCD screen using a "Push Open" button. Push the button, then lift the panel open to display the screen. Open the lid on the portable DVD player's control panel to insert your disc.

  2. Step 2

Plug your portable DVD player into an available outlet, or use batteries that you may have to buy separately. Most portable DVDs use AA-sized batteries. Select the "Power" button in front of or on either side to turn on the portable DVD player.

  3. Step 3

Wait for the portable DVD player to start running automatically. This will be indicated when the LCD display screen lights up. Turn the volume up or down using the "Volume" dial or button on the portable DVD player.

  4. Step 4

Watch the home movie once it starts playing. A menu screen may appear depending on your portable DVD player, so press the "Play" button on the control panel, then watch. Adjust the brightness or color of the screen, if necessary, so that you can see your video clearly and comfortably. Move the brightness dial either up or down to adjust the screen quality.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also press "Power" from your remote if one is included with your player. Follow the instructions according to the model or brand for installing the correct remote batteries.
  • Make sure to insert the disc into the portable DVD player with the playback side down. This would be the blank side without any artwork or writing. Push down the disc gently to secure it into place for playback.
