How to Hear the Philadelphia Symphony

The Philadelphia Orchestra was founded in 1900. In its first 100 years, it had only six music directors. The home of the Philadelphia Orchestra is the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. In the summer, the Orchestra performs in the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall and Saratoga Performing Arts Center in New York and Vail Valley Music Festival in Vail, Colorado.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra website. Click on schedule along the left side of the screen.

  2. Step 2

    Select the month you're interested in seeing the Orchestra. Look for Orchestra concerts.

  3. Step 3

    Click on the more info tab on the selected date. Read about the conductor, the program and the concert time.

  4. Step 4

    Search for concerts with a special feature on the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra's website. It allows you to enter a date range, conductor, composer or venue.

  5. Step 5

    Decide how you're going to buy tickets. You can do so online, by phone, fax, mail or in person at the Box Office.

  6. Step 6

    Order online. Call Ticket Philadelphia at (215) 893-1999. Fax your request, credit card information, phone number and address to (215) 893-1833. Write the Philadelphia Orchestra, c/o Ticket Philadelphia, 1420 Locust Street, Suite 320, Philadelphia, PA 19102.

  7. Step 7

    Go in person to the Kimmel Center Box Office. It's located in the main lobby at Bruce and Board Streets, Philadelphia.

  • Add a $5.50 service charge if you order online, by phone or by fax.
  • Add a $5.30 service charge if you order tickets by mail.
  • Add a $2.00 service charge if you buy tickets at the Box Office.
  • Buy gift certificates in person at the Kimmel Center.
