Acupuncture cupping is treatment that originated in ancient Chinese medicine and is commonly used for bronchitis, asthma, dysentery, diarrhea, soft tissue injury and infertility among many other conditions. Dating back to about 300 A.D., acupuncture cupping uses suction created by warmed glass cups to increase the blood flow to the affected area.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Enroll in a school of traditional Chinese medicine. This may be the best option if you want to become a certified cupping acupuncturist. 4-year degrees are available to teach you how to diagnose and treat using these ancient methods.

  2. Step 2

Attend a short-term workshop. Day-long, week-long and month-long courses are available to teach you the basics of acupuncture cupping.

  3. Step 3

Try a correspondence course. If you are unable to leave home to attend a school of traditional Chinese medicine, correspondence courses may be perfect for you. Complete your coursework and take any exams at home on your own time.

  4. Step 4

Take an online course. Online courses are similar to correspondence courses in that you can complete the work in your own time. The difference, however, is that Internet access allows you to listen to lectures, contribute to discussions and ask questions whenever they arise.
