Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure you find it funny. If you do not find your own jokes and humor funny, then no one else will laugh. Make sure you look over your work, and try your jokes out on your friends and family. Do this before submitting a script to television stations.

  2. Step 2

Give your best jokes to the audience when you are writing you script. Try not to be afraid to give the script your favorite jokes that you created and have saved for years.

  3. Step 3

Practice timing of delivery. Jokes have to have timing that will make people laugh. They have to be delivered at the right moment, and with the right punch.

  4. Step 4

Have a comedy writer idol to look up to. Choose someone who is a great television writer and work with this writer as an inspiration. It will help you when you have writer block moments.

  5. Step 5

Keep your television off. Television viewing will only distract you from your work, and you might hear other jokes that might mix into your own writing. Our brains pick up words when we do no even know it.

  6. Step 6

Write more content then just jokes. Blend the jokes in when you can. Some people think every second line should be a joke. Balance out the humor in the script, and provide a storyline.
