David Blaine has reached huge popularity as a magician around the world. His tricks have wowed street audiences and captured a nation in much the same way Houdini did during his golden era. Following are some steps to help you perform magic like David Blaine and begin to develop your own personal style by imitating Blaine's intriguing and often logic defying tricks.

  1. Step 1

    Check out David Blaine's website (see link in Resources) and learn about his performances, shop his online store for David Blaine clothing and cards.

  2. Step 2

    Study David Blaine's magic style. Learn a couple of card tricks that you can perform on a street or with friends.

  3. Step 3

    Learn the basics of levitation. Research the best method for performing levitation in front of an audience in an authentic and convincing manner.

  4. Step 4

    Exercise to increase your stamina while performing endurance stunts, such as staying under water for long periods of time or being locked in enclosed spaces. Play on people's fears of claustrophobia and confinement.

  5. Step 5

    Acquaint yourself with a bit about the psychology of fear, and capitalize on it during your magic. Develop a sense of drama during your performance and keep people guessing about what you will do next.

  6. Step 6

    Use the elements as part of your magic act. Include water, ice and fire to give your magic a mystical sense. Project the illusion of being able to manipulate the elements to make you seem like a true magician. Research different fire and water magic tricks for your performances.
