The NBA is the pro sport that has the most controversy regarding their referees. The NBA is probably the only sport where the casual fan actually knows the names of some of the referees. Fans of the sport often think a particular ref has a grudge against their favorite team. Well there is something that fan can do, he can get that referee suspended.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Antagonize, badger, and verbally harass the referee during an NBA game. Referees on the past have received suspensions after verbal abusing fans at the arena. Now understand that this harassment should never be taken too far and the fan should understand it is just a game.

  2. Step 2

Send letters and email to league office about a particular official. Be sure the letters and emails are courteous and well written (see below).

  3. Step 3

Contact the local NBA team's office and voice concerns about a particular referee. Whichever team a person roots for they can send an email or letter to their to voice concerns over a certain referee. Again be courteous and make sure the correspondence is well-written.

  4. Step 4

Entice the referee to make a bet on an NBA game. Betting on NBA games is strictly prohibited, so if a person meets an NBA referee out on the street ask the ref if they care to make a friendly wager on the game. Beware that this is the most risky option as referees are very touchy at times about betting on games, but it is worth a try. Be sure to document the wager by video or some other means.
