Hockey is a team sport in which players skate around an ice rink trying to put the puck through the goal. In ice hockey, a 3 on 2 offense is an offensive situation where three offensive players are faced off with two defensive players. Play this offense from anywhere on the ice rink. It is a preferred offense for many coaches.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Attack or skate toward the defenders quickly while moving the puck around the rink. This allows you to setup a 2 on 1 scenario with two offensive players on one defender.

  2. Step 2

Move the puck across the ice and get to the net as soon as possible. The puck carrier needs to force the defender to play them so that it leaves one pass receiver open.

  3. Step 3

Ask the second defender to skate to the post and across the attacker's skates. This places both pass receivers into position.

  4. Step 4

Pass the puck from receiver to receiver and back to the puck carrier who is skating around in a zigzag fashion to protect the puck. This sets up an opportunity to score.

  5. Step 5

Shoot the puck into the goal in an area the goalie is not covering. This may take a few tries. Do not give up. When necessary, pass the puck to the other two defensive players, especially if they have a good angle.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not to use too much force with the puck until you are ready to shoot for the goal. If the puck moves too fast across the ice you may loose control over it. If this happens the defenders may intercept the puck.
