Step 1
Determine where you would like to vacation. Honeymooners don't all head for blue water and white sand. Many couples choose mountain getaways or theme-park adventures.
-
Step 2
Figure out how many days you would like your honeymoon to last. This is a very important step, since some vacations require travel days. Make sure you factor in the amount of time it takes to get to your destination so that you have enough time to enjoy your vacation.
-
Step 3
Be flexible with your dates and times. You may be able to get a better deal by leaving mid-week or traveling early in the morning or late at night.
-
Step 4
Search for packages specifically aimed at honeymooners. Bed and breakfasts and resorts often have special rates and amenities for honeymooners.
-
Step 5
Talk to a travel agent before committing to any deals. Not only can travel agents get you deals you may not be able to find elsewhere, they can take care of the honeymoon details for you while you take care of the wedding.
-
Step 6
Call your honeymoon destination yourself and let them know you are making plans for your honeymoon. Smaller organizations may not advertise their discounts online, but it will give you a discount if you ask.
