Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide where you would like to purchase your timeshare. There isn't any sense in researching agents all over the country if you're wanting to purchase in a specific location. Taking this step first will save you time and energy.
Step2
Research the larger real estate organizations in that local area. While working with the larger real estate offices does not guarantee satisfaction, it will provide you with a place to begin and a list of agents to research further.
Step3
Look at the websites of the individual real estate agents you're considering hiring to be your timeshare realtor. Review the length of time they've been in business as well as any customer reviews. If no reviews are available, email or write to the agents and request a list of references. Any qualified real estate agent will be happy to present you with a list of satisfied customers.
Step4
Contact the Better Business Bureaus in the areas where you're considering purchasing a timeshare. Make sure the agents you're considering do not have complaints lodged against them on file.
Step5
Ask real estate agents who do not specialize in timeshare sales to recommend a few real estate agents to you. Professionals such as these realize how important it is to provide customer satisfaction and will be happy to give you the names of agents they believe will do a good job for you. They know if you're happy, you're likely to return to them for future business. That's how agents make their living.
Step6
Talk to the property management companies who take care of timeshare condos in the area. As professionals in the business, they know both the good timeshare realtors and more importantly, the bad ones.
