How to Work at the Grand Canyon

If you love the outdoors and are in awe at the majesty of nature's wonders, then working at the Grand Canyon may be the right job for you.

Instructions

Apply for a Full-Time Job at the Grand Canyon

1. Go to the Grand Canyon National Park job page at: http://www.grand.canyon.national-park.com/jobs.htm. Here, you will find the types of employment the Grand Canyon offers. All positions are filled through the National Park Service. The different employment opportunities are: full-time positions, temporary/seasonal positions, park volunteers and summer internship positions.

2. Click on the National Park Service link. This will take you to the "Employment Information" page for the National Park Service. Choose the career path you wish to take. If you are pursuing your first job with the federal government, click on the "general employment information" hyper-link.

3. Click on: http://www.usajobs.opm.gov/ under "Your Application." You will now be re-directed to usajobs.com. Click on the "Search Jobs" tab at the top of the page.

4. Select AZ - Grand Canyon. Also select the position you are looking for and your desired salary range/pay grade. Click "Search For Jobs" at the bottom of the page.

5. Click on the job or jobs in which you are interested. If it looks like something you want to do, click on "Apply Online." You will need to create an account in order to move forward. You will also have the opportunity to post your resume online with usajobs.com. Wait for the National Park Service to contact you.

Apply for a Temporary/Seasonal Position at the Grand Canyon

1. Go to the Grand Canyon National Park job page and click on the "Temporary/Seasonal Positions" link. This will take you to the NPS Seasonal Employment Program page.

2. Click "Apply Online" at the bottom of the page. You'll need to register as a new user to continue with the application process.

3. Click on the "Just Browsing" option to preview open positions before posting your application and resume, if you'd like.

Apply to Become a Park Volunteer

1. Go the Grand Canyon National Park job page and click on the "Park Volunteers" link. Click on the "Opportunities" link.

2. Use the "By Park" drop-down menu, and choose Grand Canyon National Park.

3. Click on the volunteer position you desire. Use the contact information provided to apply to become a volunteer.

Apply for a Summer Intern Position

1. Go the Grand Canyon National Park job page.

2. Contact the Park Service Information Office at Grand Canyon National Park.
