There are many types of advertising available, including print advertising, outdoor (billboard) advertising, television advertising and radio advertising. Radio advertising can be costly; however, there are steps you can take to reduce those costs to save money on radio advertising.

  1. Step 1

Decide on a budget for your radio advertising. This is an important step to take because if you don't know how much you want to spend, you can end up spending much more than you can afford. Plan it out before you get into it by analyzing the budget for your company and how much you can put toward the radio advertising. You can make the budget a weekly budget, a monthly budget or a yearly budget depending on what works best for your company.

  2. Step 2

Use the Google AdWords program. Google, one of the Internet's largest companies, now offers a program in which you can buy radio advertising. Many customers find that going through Google is much cheaper than more traditional means. With Google, you can decide exactly how much you want to spend on the ad, when the ad is played and also set a budget for your radio advertising campaign.

  3. Step 3

Analyze how your radio advertising is working with Google. When you login to your Google AdWords account, you can listen to your radio advertisement to hear exactly what radio listeners heard. By looking at the statistics that Google provides, you can tell whether the radio advertising is having its desired effects. Try different methods until you figure out what works best for your company.

  4. Step 4

Continue to check up on your radio advertisements regularly. You can lose a lot of money by running a radio ad that isn't effective. Stay on top of it, and change it if you aren't getting the desired results.

on 8/11/2009 Don't think that radio advertising is too expensive or not targeted to niche audiences!

Multimedia broadcasts are a rapidly growing segment of the radio world. These are the shows that air in certain markets via traditional FM channels as well as streaming via the web. Because the cost of production is low, advertising costs can run less than $75 per week for DOZENS of plays per ad.

I host one such show through CBS Radio called "The Paranormal View". I welcome any business offering camera equipment, home security systems, electronics or electronics parts, audio recording devices, computers, and more to target the vast number of Ghost-Hunting hobbyists who saturate our audience!
