Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Know when to start your celebrations. You can use the weather as a measure to know when winter is over or you can use the Spring Equinox as a marker which occurs in March. This is the date on which day and night is the same length of time.
Step2
Get outside as often as possible. Walk your dog with a friend or with family, or take your other workouts outside or to a park. Take advantage of the longer days and improve your mood by being out in the sun.
Step3
Work on your garden by adding new plants to it or plant some indoors if it is still too chilly for them to thrive outside. The growth of plants symbolizes new beginnings and fertility associated with spring.
Step4
Plan a picnic for you and your spouse, family or with some friends. Make a group activity out of it by having everyone participate in bringing some food and grill outside even if winter has left the weather still cool.
Step5
Have an activity day planned for your kids that helps them say goodbye to winter and hello to spring. Fly a kite if the weather cooperates, visit the zoo, have them help with planting your new bulbs or have them choose anything else that they like to do outside.
Step6
Eat some warm weather foods and have beverages that remind you of warmer longer days. Lemonade or smoothies are great cooling drinks. Salads, fruits or other light foods can also get you in the mood for the end of winter.
