A Renaissance Fair can be a fun experience and a great way to experience history. Part of the entertainment is participating by dressing up in Renaissance garb, but it is not necessary. Use the following steps when you go to a Renaissance Fair.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Look in the paper for Renaissance Fairs. These will be advertised in the daily calendar or events calendar. They are events worth looking for.

  2. Step 2

Be on the look out for fliers for Renaissance Fairs in your community. They might be posted at your library, grocery store or anywhere else around town. College campuses could also be a good source of information.

  3. Step 3

Decide whether or not to go dressed in Renaissance garb. Part of the fun is dressing up in authentic garb.

  4. Step 4

Go to the website of the organization that's hosting the Renaissance Fair for information. If you do not have Renaissance garb, find out whether the fair will provide Renaissance clothing that you can borrow while you're there.

  5. Step 5

Rent Renaissance garb to wear to the Renaissance Fair. You can rent Renaissance clothing from costume rentals, or party shops.

  6. Step 6

Make your own Renaissance clothing for the Renaissance Fair. You can find authentic patterns at fabric stores.

  7. Step 7

Enjoy yourself. A Renaissance Fair is a great way to learn more about a period of history. Try to see and experience as much as you can.
