Ruby is a programming language. Ruby borrows from several other programming languages, such as Java and Perl, and makes the coding easier. Ruby was designed to make programmers happy and after learning it, not want to go back to the language they were using. The following will show you how to learn the Ruby programming language.

Find tutorials online. There are a couple sites in the resource section where you can find tutorials that will teach you how to learn Ruby programming.

Get a book. There are several books that you can use to learn Ruby programming. These can be found on the Internet at Amazon or at your favorite bookstore like Barnes and Noble.

Join a local Ruby Users group and get extensive help from others who are learning Ruby or are using Ruby.

Watch one of the movies that gives you the basics of using Ruby programming (see below).

Visit blogs written by Ruby users and learn how they learned Ruby programming.

Take Ruby with you. There are screen casts that you can download to your iPod and watch whenever you have some time. These are tutorials on how to learn Ruby programming.

Use all the resources available. Although there aren't any formal classes to attend to learn Ruby programming there is a wide variety of ways to learn on the Internet that are described in Steps 1 to 6. Take advantage of them and you will soon learn Ruby programming.
