To be in the limelight is to have all eyes on you. You are the focus of public attention and it comes with huge responsibility. General practices of etiquette can help you function in the limelight of the entertainment arena, politics, public speaking or any other function in society.

A teenager can be elected homecoming queen and kids will look up to her and admire her. Stay humble and don't get full of yourself when you are on public display.

2. Be a positive role model for young children, especially while you are in the limelight. Conduct yourself with character, honesty, integrity and good manners. Think about how the way you handle yourself in public will influence the society around you, for good or for bad.

3. Stay focused on your job or mission if you want to be in the limelight constructively. Live with a sense of purpose, remembering that you are in the limelight for a season. Nothing lasts forever. Enjoy where you are now, but realize that the time will come when the limelight will shift elsewhere.

4. Think before you act when you are in the limelight. Be careful about decisions you make. Resist the tendency to neglect your regular responsibilities and duties in order to be seen more in the public limelight.
